AM Service
Great job getting the stage "fixed" from moving stuff around, I know it was busy with video shoots and every-thing, thank you for your help! And thank you for showing up early or at least by call times, it was so much easier when we have enough people there to help get everything done!
- Audio Comments
* slightly rough start do to rehearsal issues, but by Great is thy faithfulness, it sounded awesome in the sanctuary. Very worshipful atmosphere. Come to think about it, maybe the problem was that it took many people till the 3rd song to get into the sanctuary, get a seat and start worshiping with the body?
* A4V - Watch Robert, seemed soft while speaking, too loud while singing in the recording mix. Some of it may be how much of him is on stage, so watch the open mics that aren't being used, turn down what you can.
- Video Comments
* Melissa, nice save at master control with the transition at beginning of service, full screen IMAG graphic, wipe off, then pulpit.... Another example of how we all need to know our position well enough to react quickly when something does go wrong and get it fixed smoothly.
* nice bug (sermon graphic) btw
* watch DVD playback - Somehow I double-clicked on the switcher and didn't get the video from the dvd up on the screen... not sure how that happened, but being smooth with getting it back online is important - I faded to it as the video started and words went off, almost looked like it was suppose to be like that!
- Lighting Comments
* Pulpit to dark when Steve was there (white pulpit was glowing, Steve was dark). Do we maybe have the pulpit lights cut down a little too low? - Blue Choir behind him looked really good - nice and dark, but the blue gave it a nice texture.
* Choir looks nice and lit during the service, good job aiming and keeping it off the screen.
* Baptism cue had pulpit lit - check that cue programing.
* Which light is reflecting off the piano onto screen?
* Choir Special - choir started singing in the dark... got to take into account time to get lights up, not sure if cue was not right or ???
- Misc Comments
Dedication / baptism transitions and playback went very smoothly, light timing was a little slow - you can speed it up by pushing enter again on the house lights. Make sure dirs to count out for the team video starts / stops. Need to build timing into the service to allow parents off the stage, planning issue for next time.
Bumper video recording went well, good job director! - timing well, good watching countdown
Rehearsal Comments
- THANK YOU for showing up, for a while I thought the media team was going to have a better showing than the choir.
- Watch the open mics - we are going to have to keep anything not used off, but that means we have to get them back on in time
- Sounded great in the house
- hopefully we will continue having plenty of gain before feedback on the drama mics when they move out front, but be ready to control them a little more - ride them with your fingers, following the script.
- Watch the track level behind the drama - be ready to ride it a little as needed.
- Keep as much light off the screen as possible - it's pretty dim and hard to see some of the video.
- This time we need to remember to split the Robert cam for tv also
- need to look at locations for POV cameras - Narrators to Audience would be a good one
- Great job on the manual light cues!!!!
- Don't forget to tape on wireless..... I noticed once it looked like it was off when Jeanine picked it up.
- Don't let ROBERT overrun the audio so much when he is singing. I know we had him turned up so we could hear the cues and what he was saying to us, but remember to mix him in with the praise team when he is singing with them, and just slightly out front to lead when he is leading the congregation in singing.
- April is awesome on her solo! Let the reverb 1 do it's job on her and Jeanine, the gothic hall verb should be exactly what is needed for those songs.
DVD cues - Imag Director, Where Art thou??? We missed you at rehearsal - As far as the timing on the DVD cues, it will be better when we run thru it, because you will not be using the menu.
PM Service -
Mother daughter choir went well
- watch solo's - somehow we missed Debbie's solo during rehearsal in the TV room, so we were not sure who it was that would be doing it. So I guess the real comment is TV Directors and Camera operators need to pay attention during the 5:30 - 6:00 rehearsal so you know who is doing what when.
Wow, I can see the choir. Nice having the extra lights. (okay, I already said that, but wow, what a difference it makes!)
Good catches on the scripture reading, came thru well in the sanctuary, although it could have been just a little more in A4V.
Final Thoughts
Just thank you again everyone for helping make this ministry work. Make sure you look at the crew schedule for this week, and don't forget about the extra rehearsals and work days. If you have any thoughts or comments about these things, leave a comment below!
